I'm looking to add one freshwater snail to a fluval edge. Are there any snails that won't lay eggs? It's stocked with red cherry shrimp and don't want to clean eggs , thanks!
If you get a female nerite, she will lay (unfertlized) eggs and they're quite difficult to remove. However, to my knowledge there's no way to tell a male from a female.
I'm pretty sure female nerites only lay fertilized eggs, they just don't hatch in fresh water. So in this instance, you would need 2 to lay a fertilized egg.
