What do you guys this? I bought this fish about a month ago from a private keeper here in Lethbridge, he bought it from Alberta Discus as a Super Red Checker. However looking at pictures of other Super Red Checker this guy doesnt have nearly as busy of a pattern as them. He is about 4.5" long maybe 5 but havent put him on a ruler.
I had ID threads with a passion, however I am looking to find a female for him of the same color & pattern. I would like to know what I have.

The strain name mostly depends on the breeder that it comes from. It also doesn't help that Pigeons often go through dramatic colour and pattern changes over their life. Males often develop more white pattern and females often lose white pattern showing more of the red base colour instead. I have a proven female available that would be a close pattern/colour match to your male.
