Threadfin Geophagus, (Acarichthys heckelii) question

1690 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Fishman21
Hi

Has anyone kept these?

Are they as aggressive as specified in some articles?

I am considering adding a few to a 175 Gallon S American setup (See my tank population below)

Any thoughts?

I think they are great fish, never had any aggression issues, should get along with your mix. Hard part is finding them.
Thanks

I saw some at King Ed's
I didn't notice any aggression in my heckellis, they were pretty docile and well mannered. I've kept a lot of different species of geos and my favorite earth eaters are heckellis and satanoperca daemon.
So I added one to the tank. We'll see how that goes.

Nice looking fish!
