I just got few new plants. It's named as "Cryptocoryne Plants" in LFS, and I was told I can simply floating them. However, I did some google search and fount if this is "Cryptocoryne", they need to be rooted, or they will not survive. Is it true?

Another question, they all have a big "rhizome" like part, if I want to root them, should I apart them from the "rhizome" first? Or I just bury the rhizome with the roots?

Please help. Thank you.

A- it should definitely be planted in substrate, Cryptocoryne are primarily a root feeder.
B- Cryptocoryne don't have rhizomes, they propagate through baby plants and runners. Cut off those brown parts and plant it so the roots are buried.
