We get this question a lot. Because of us being in BC, many customers associate "Island" Pets with Vancouver Island. The real reasoning behind the name is for a number of reasons.
The PACE program we promote for children in Jamaica was started by my Aunt. That and the connection with our Vanuatu collecting station and the fact that most fish come from the "islands" of some sort. Technically the world is an island.
The palm trees in our logo is representative of the tropics, the tam tam or totem pole is a symbol of Vanuatu and Rastapus, the logo, is a reference to my Jamaican background.
There, now we know.
